What a day!  The second day of HIMSS seemed to have aligned with the four pillars of Summit Healthcare; work hard, remain active, embrace opportunity and have fun.

Much like the first day, the conversations were multi-faceted.  The two most common topics continued to be around CCD/CDA/HISP & bi-directional integration with the physician practices.  As MU Stage 2 is just around the corner and the “Transition of Care” requirement becoming a sharp reality, lots of attendees made it a priority to educate themselves and find a solution.  The Summit Care Exchange technology was very well received.  The tool has an inherent HISP offering with an interface engine backbone, providing organizations with the flexibility that is needed; today but more importantly into the future.

As far POI, the inbound order workflow that we’ve been able to master continues to resonate with folks that are looking to engage their community, become more interoperable, and find additional revenue in a time of declining reimbursements.

Many of our existing customers stopped by our booth (#1021) to engage in conversations around their current solutions.  Any business is only as strong as their customers’ success.  We take great pride in these partnerships and continuing to develop our product lines to meet their current and future interoperability challenges.  Each year there is valuable takeaways that contribute to our development roadmap.  Day 2 was no exception.

We continued to have a lot of business-to-business conversations throughout the day.  Many organizations, from large to small, are actively seeking to use Summit’s tools to achieve a variety of interoperability goals.  Each of these conversations is unique and gives insight to the puzzle that is healthcare.  We believe our interface engine, Summit Express Connect, and the Summit Scripting Toolkit help mold those pieces together.  Eventually we will get to a finished frame.

We ended the day indulging in a nice dinner with prospects and clients and then headed over to City Walk.  It was a great opportunity to catch up with all of our Meditech clients.  We enjoyed a few drinks with good music and better company.  Tomorrow brings the finish line of HIMSS.  While we will be exhausted, the successful nature of the conference means we can’t wait until next year!
